ABOUT THIS SITE
Welcome to Ian's Music Reviews! Please allow me the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Ian, and I'm an alcoholic...err...I mean I'm the guy who writes all of these crappy music reviews. Why music reviews, you may ask? Well, for starters I love music, and have always been obsessed with listening, writing, and discussing it. I also have a passion for writing, and a strong interest in pop culture literature, so I guess that a music review site is a perfect fit for me. I'm not sure if there is an audience for another music review site, but I'm not particularly concerned with attracting a large following. I am doing this because I love it, and for no other reason. If you do happen to stumble upon this site, I hope you enjoy it. Please feel welcome to give me any feedback. Now here's a little summary of what you will find on this site: The Bands - As you will have already noticed, I have started out by reviewing the bands that I love. Next, I will work my way through the rest of my rather large record collection. If you have any requests for reviews, please let me know and I'll see what I can do. I plan on reviewing everything from classic 60's pop to contemporary rock (and everything in between). The Rating System - I rate each album out of 10, with 10 representing the absolute best and 0 representing the absolute worst. I also reserve the right to give a 10+ rating in those rare instances when an album's greatness exceeds what can normally be achieved by mere mortals. Of course, my rating system is highly subjective, and very unscientific, but then again that is the very essence of all music reviews. We all have opinions, and you will certainly become acquainted with mine as you read the reviews. Play These/Skip These - I have "nicked" this review feature from Q Magazine. For every album I list up to three of the very best tracks, as well as three of the worst. For double albums I will list up to six tracks. Live Reviews - I will try to review every concert that I attend. For the time being, I will place the reviews on the artist's review page, although in the future I may decide to set up a separate page for live reviews. Updates - I will try to update this site as often as possible, but at this time I'm unsure as to how frequently that will be. Reader Comments - Please feel free to comment on anything you see on this site!! I will post reader comments about specific reviews or artists, but I also reserve the right to send "flames" or offensive letters straight to the recycle bin.
