Highest Average Studio Album Ratings On Ian's Music Reviews (for artists with more than 3 albums, whose entire catalog has been reviewed thus far):

1) Radiohead (9.2)  -  Surprising?  Perhaps not....
2) The Beatles (9.1)  -  Shame about Yellow Submarine.  Too bad the Past Masters albums don't count. Maybe they should.
3) Oasis (8.4)  -  Still riding the coattails of their stellar mid-90's output.
4) U2 (8.1)  -  Solid albums from a solid band over 25 years - pretty amazing.
5) Coldplay (8.0)  -  Only time will tell if they keep it up.
6) Creedence Clearwater Revival (7.9)  -  Shame about Mardi Gras - they're catalog was stellar up until the final record.
7) The Who (7.8)  -  Band whose high worth should not be based on studio albums.
8) Rolling Stones (7.6) - Pretty impressive average, especially considering just how many albums these guys have.
9) John Lennon (7.6)  -  If you disregard the 3 early avant-garde albums with Yoko, that is...
10) Nirvana (7.5)  -  Death is always a good career move for a rock band.  Didn't have time to get crappy.
11) The Clash (7.1)  -  Cut The Crap brings down the average considerably.  Could've been a high 8.
12) The Guess Who (7.2) - Amazing start, a very solid middle, and a brief, anticlimactic end - a great band.
13) Guns 'n Roses (7.0) - Good start to a career, but where's the finish?

14)  Tyrannosaurus Rex / T. Rex (6.7)  -  The band is much better than the overall average ratings would suggest.
15) George Harrison (6.7)  -  If not for All Things Must Pass, the overall average would have been very low.
16) The Eagles (6.5)  -  Consistent mediocrity = a surprisingly good average rating.
17) Robbie Williams (6.5)  -  New album 'Rudebollucks' considerably lowers Robbie's overall rating.
18) Metallica (6.3) - The early part of their career was stellar, and the latter part is pure crap.  It averages out to mediocrity.
19) Paul McCartney (6.2)  -  Recent albums bring up the average rating.
20) Led Zeppelin (6.1)  -  Inconsistent albums = an average overall rating.
21) Tool (5.5) - Not a big fan of this band.
22) Motley Crue (5.3)  -  Latter-day Crue is too awful to stomach.
23) KISS (4.8)  -  Is a D average any good?  Maybe if you're KISS....
